$UNH WSJ came out with a very poor article on UNH and
$ALHC. It says health care insurers will do better in 2026 while hospitals like
$HCA and
$THC that tripled and quintupled in the last 5 years will not do well. In fact, their fortunes will switch per WSJ. If you read the article, though, there are very few favorable developments for insurers. There is a somewhat higher government payment rate (5%) for Medicare Advantage under Trump vs. previously under Biden. But that's about it. You're left scratching your head: is that enough for the fortunes of managed care organizations to abruptly change and outperform hospitals? This is why you should never trust journos with liberal arts backgrounds to analyze moving parts. They're jounos, not analysts. Journos try to weave a narrative but they cannot comprehend market data nor financial statements. Things are only somewhat looking up for UNH and ALHC but they're certainly not gonna triple or quadruple from here.
