FTC is asking $BA to divest $SPR assets that supply parts to Airbus & Spirit’s Malaysian aerostructures business Subang to resolve antitrust concerns around its proposed acquisition of the aircraft-parts maker. Airbus would buy the businesses that supply it products, and Malaysian aerospace company Composites Technology Research Malaysia would buy Subang FTC ordered Boeing to provide transitional services to the 2 buyers. The divestitures would resolve FTC allegations that the proposed acquisition would allow Boeing to raise costs or make it more difficult for rival Airbus to compete FTC’s order is similar to conditions proposed by the EU when it approved the acquisition in Oct

$BA so this goes down, but $SPR goes higher? Are people thinking this could stop the merger and Spirit should be higher? Boeing was already planning to divest several spirit assets. Do they want them to do more? Boeing was planning on doing it after the merger, but they want it done before. Just surprised $SPR is higher than the merger price.
