$ACI: Albertsons (+2.2%) isn’t a growth story; it’s a capital return story. Aggressive buybacks and steady AI execution are supporting the stock as consumer demand stays price-sensitive. The world’s largest supermarket chains generate over US$1.7 trillion in annual revenue, with the United States firmly leading the global retail sector, hosting five of the top ten companies. Walmart dominates by a wide margin, with more than US$715.9 billion in sales—exceeding the GDP of countries like Colombia. Other major U.S. players include Costco (US$275.2B), Kroger (US$147.6B), Target (US$104.8B), and Albertsons (US$80.4B), all benefiting from scale and highly efficient logistics. Europe remains a strong competitor with Ahold Delhaize (US$100.7B), Carrefour (US$91.6B), and Tesco (US$88.8B), operating in complex and competitive markets. Asia is represented by Japan’s Seven & i Holdings (US$79.8B), whose convenience store model has proven highly scalable, while Canada’s Loblaw Companies (US$47.1B) completes the top 10. Together, these companies underscore the massive scale of global retail and the importance of logistics, efficiency, and market size. $WMT $COST $KR $TGT $ACI

$ACI I have been out since the 18s as posted because of overall market fears. I could not resist and just restarted the position at 16.45 and will add lower. Same reasons as before - ~6x EV/EBITDA and forward P/E of 7.3x they are sitting on $14 billion in Real Estate (150% of current market cap). The 600 million termination fee is a lock but they could get billions in damages from Kroger (guessing $4-600 mill) by late 2026 - lawsuit in action. Kroger already settled once and they will do it again. Massive buyback (13% yield), potential take-private, cleaning up the non-performing stores and the growth in digital. See this as good risk/reward at this level and lower.

$ACI Ace in the hole? Or im a total idiot? Perhaps a bit of both. Cheap pe but lots of debt. Im not a fan of the new ceo fwiw. Still this is is assymetrical and inverse to the overstuffed wider market (which is very generously valued still). And, You gotta eat, right? Nice pump today but aci often does that on fridays. Still have lots of cheap shares from ipo in 2020 and have had success with churning covered calls in the past. They might get 500m + cash from kroger also.
