I wanted to emphasize this lesson from @TheMarketsTheTarget.
“The Stock is not the company”.
Dislocations between stock valuation and company performance can last for years.
For example, I purchased a lot of
$UNM from 2020-2023. The company was persistently trading under a 5 PE ratio. That’s right, a 5 PE. I thought it was too good to be true. I thought I had to be missing something big.
Nope, it was just a dislocation. In other words, when a stock’s valuation does not coincide with a company’s performance.
Hopefully it doesn’t take years for
$DECK’s stock to match company performance, but nobody knows what will happen. We can only make educated guesses.
”The stock is not the company”.
Thank you @TheMarketsTheTarget
