$KOS $GLNG Kosmos confirms commercial operations date reached for Golar's FLNG Gimi Kosmos Energy (KOS) noted the announcement by Golar LNG (GLNG) that the FLNG Gimi has reached Commercial Operations Date for the 20-year Lease and Operate Agreement with BP for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project offshore Mauritania and Senegal. The announcement of COD marks a significant milestone for the project partners, as LNG production volumes have been ramped up to a level equivalent to the annual contracted volumes of approximately 2.4 million tonnes per annum, or around 90% of nameplate capacity of 2.7mtpa. The achievement of COD follows first LNG in February and the first LNG cargo in April. The second and third LNG cargo were exported in May and early June respectively and a fourth cargo is currently loading. The fifth cargo is expected at the start of the third quarter. With this expected cargo timing, Kosmos forecasts 3.5 gross cargos in the second quarter.

$GLNG Golar LNG announces FLNG Gimi reach commercial operations date Golar LNG announced that FLNG Gimi has reached the Commercial Operations Date for its 20-year Lease and Operate Agreement for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project offshore Mauritania and Senegal. The COD triggers the start of the 20-year Lease and Operate Agreement that unlocks the equivalent of around $3B of Adjusted EBITDA backlog. Following the achieved COD of FLNG Gimi and announcement of the two FLNG charters in Argentina on May 2, Golar is accelerating work on its next FLNG unit. The company said, "We continue to advance commercial discussions, with charterer demand guiding design choice of the fourth FLNG unit. In addition to the 3.5mtpa MKII option at CIMC Raffles shipyard, Golar has signed a final engineering study to confirm EPC price and delivery for a 5mtpa MKIII FLNG and is updating price and schedule for an up to 2.7mtpa MKI FLNG."

$GLNG Heads up alert! Upcoming earnings on Tuesday, 5/27/2025 for $GLNG Neutral (5.0) Golar LNG Limited (GLNG) is navigating a complex landscape amidst recent developments and market fluctuations. The company is currently trading around $38.4, with its intrinsic value estimated at approximately $28.87 based on the Dividend Discount Model. This suggests that the stock may be overvalued, indicating a cautionary stance among investors. The trailing P/E ratio stands at an elevated 88.55, while the forward P/E ratio is more reasonable at 21.60, reflecting expectations of improved future earnings. Golar's earnings per share (EPS) growth is pivotal as it aims to capitalize on its strategic agreements, including a landmark 20-year contract for FLNG projects in Argentina that are expected to enhance revenue stability and growth. Analysts project significant revenue growth driven by these contracts, although recent performance has been mixed, with Golar facing headwinds from broader energy sector challenges, including declining crude prices that have affected stock performance. In comparison to industry peers, Golar's financial metrics highlight a need for cautious optimism, as it seeks to stabilize its earnings amidst fluctuating market conditions. Looking ahead, Golar LNG's upcoming earnings report for Q1 2025 is eagerly anticipated, with results expected to be released on May 21, 2025. Analysts are watching closely, as past performance has shown volatility with mixed outlooks. Consensus estimates suggest a potential rebound, but investors remain apprehensive due to recent declines in the stock price. The company's historical performance suggests that its earnings can significantly impact market sentiment, especially given the backdrop of ongoing projects and the overall energy sector's recovery trajectory. The energy sector has experienced a turbulent period recently, particularly due to fluctuations in oil prices and changing market dynamics. However, with the introduction of artificial intelligence and new technologies, there is a glimmer of hope for transformation and recovery within the sector. Golar LNG's initiatives in FLNG projects position it well to potentially capitalize on these trends, although it must navigate the challenges ahead to fully realize its growth prospects. - Funds were net sellers of $GLNG during the previous reporting quarter. - Top 1 funds with large holdings in $GLNG: * Aventail Capital $33MM. Heads up alert! Upcoming earnings on 5/27/2025 for $GLNG Consensus Signal: Neutral (5.5) Golar LNG Limited (GLNG) has recently been in the spotlight, with various developments shaping investor perceptions. The company has made significant strides in securing long-term contracts, notably entering into 20-year agreements for the redeployment of FLNG projects in Argentina, which positions it as a key player in the global LNG market. However, the stock has faced volatility, as evidenced by its inclusion in discussions around energy companies underperforming this past week. Financially, Golar LNG's trailing P/E stands at 88.55, which may seem elevated, but its forward P/E ratio is significantly lower at 21.60, indicating potential for growth as earnings catch up with valuations. The company reported an EPS of $0.48 in the most recent quarter, with analysts projecting a 15% growth rate in earnings over the next three to five years, driven by increasing demand for LNG and successful project executions. Revenue forecasts for the upcoming quarters remain robust, especially with the commissioning of the FLNG Gimi, which is anticipated to contribute positively to cash flows. In terms of competitive positioning, Golar’s financial metrics suggest a solid outlook when compared to industry peers. Its ability to secure long-term contracts provides a buffer against market fluctuations, particularly in a volatile energy sector. The consensus estimates for the upcoming earnings report are cautiously optimistic, with analysts expecting revenue of approximately $120 million, reflecting a potential increase fueled by recent project developments. Historical performance shows that Golar has consistently met or exceeded earnings expectations, which could bolster investor confidence ahead of the earnings release. Overall, while the current sentiment around GLNG is neutral, the fundamentals indicate that if the company successfully executes its strategies, there could be significant upside potential in the medium to long term. - Funds were net sellers of $GLNG during the previous reporting quarter. - Top 1 funds with large holdings in $GLNG: * Aventail Capital $33MM.
