J.P. Morgan said Italy’s telecom sector is showing price stability in both mobile and fixed services after several quarters of heavy competition.
Mobile prices remain broadly stable, with TLIT (TIM) and VOD holding premium positions, while Fastweb and WindTre recently raised prices. TIM adjusted about 1.7M mobile lines in H1 2025, boosting ARPU and lowering churn.
Regulatory data shows ILD (Iliad) still gaining customers, though its net adds have slowed since 2023.
In fixed-line, TIM and VOD raised prices for new contracts, while ILD cut rates, positioning as the cheapest option. TIM repriced ~4M fixed lines in H1, driving a 6.6% YoY ARPU increase in Q2 2025.
Despite strong FTTH uptake, TIM continued to lose consumer fixed-line users, mainly legacy service clients. Meanwhile, ILD expanded its base by cutting its 5Gbps plan to €23.7/month, winning share from TIM and Fastweb.
