$PPBI agrees to merge with Columbia Banking in an all-stock deal (0.915x exchange ratio). CEO Gardner gets $16.5M golden parachute. At 0.69x book value, market seems skeptical - but scale could help compete in CA's crowded banking scene. Execution risk remains high with $75M breakup fee on the line. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1028918/000110465925038879/tm2512834d6_8k.htm

$PPBI making moves - Columbia Banking acquiring them in an all-stock deal to create a $70B Western U.S. banking force. Mid-teens EPS accretion sounds nice, but let's see if the market rewards this at 0.66x book value. That 6.7% dividend yield looking juicier if execution goes smoothly. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/columbia-banking-system-inc-reports-first-quarter-2025-results-302436142.html

$PPBI Digging PPBI's strategic moves. West Coast banking looks solid with their diversified approach. Fed rate cuts might shake things up, but management seems prepared. $PPBI Pacific Premier reports Q3 EPS 37c, consensus 38c Reports Q3 revenue $149.56M, consensus $139.24M. Reports Q3 tangible book value per share $20.81. Reports Q3 CET1 capital ratio 16.83%. Steven Gardner, chairman, CEO, and president of the company, commented, "We delivered solid results in the third quarter with net income of $36.0 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.37. Our relationship managers and their branch banking colleagues' consistent efforts to generate new business opportunities while deepening existing client relationships contributed to an increase in non-interest-bearing deposits, which comprised 32% of total deposits at quarter-end. We leveraged these positive core deposit trends to further reduce higher-cost wholesale funding sources by decreasing brokered deposits by $184 million and repaying a $200 million FHLB ('Federal Home Loan Bank') term advance."
