Eve Air Mobility completed the first flight of its full-scale, uncrewed electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) prototype at Embraer’s test facility in Brazil. The inaugural hover flight at Gavião Peixoto marked the start of Eve’s flight-test campaign and validated key systems, including its fifth-generation fly-by-wire architecture and fixed-pitch lift rotors.
The company plans multiple test flights, gradually expanding to full wing-borne flight through 2026. Eve will build six conforming prototypes for its certification-focused flight-test program and is working with Brazil’s civil aviation authority as its primary certifier, targeting type certification, initial deliveries, and entry into service in 2027. Management said the prototype performed in line with expectations, with hundreds of flights planned to support certification.
