$BTCI I'm glad that I sold this off and bought $BTC (which is uncapped) instead. With Bitcoin up so much today the price of their Sept 18th $CBTX call @ 1570 has been pierced. What this means is that 21.6% of their Bitcoin long holdings have now been capped until they roll the options next month. The next call option that might be hit is their $CBTX call @ 1630 which would be another 21.6% of their bitcoin holdings capped. The $CBTX price is currently 1,612. That is the main reason why I sold $BTCI and bought $BTC so I wasn't capped when bitcoin goes up. That is why $BTC is up 5.93% while $BTCI is only up 4.69% today. And $BTCI will be capped even further for the rest of the month is Bitcoin keeps going up.

$BTCI Bought $10,000 here. The dividend and ex-date should be marked Tuesday or Wednesday of this week... payment on Friday. Then we'll see... kinda risky to hold it with $BTC.X stuck in bearish context for months and no actual technical end in sight.

$BTCI BTCI (NEOS Bitcoin High Income ETF) markets a 26.73% distribution rate. Recomputed independently at all 22 monthly ex-dates since the 2024-10-16 inception, that rate has sat in a 26.18%-33.26% band (mean 28.10%, median 27.96%, sd 1.55pp) and never left the high twenties. https://thedailydigits.com/i/211008151/a-27-advertised-yield-that-cannot-move

$BTCI (1 of 2) Why I sold out of BTCI after owning it for a year. BTCI isn’t doing what I thought it would. It is supposed to pay out about 30% yield by selling covered calls on Bitcoin. While it does do this, the income that you are getting is mostly covered by selling the underlying asset, and not the income the NEOS is getting from selling the covered calls. For instance, so far this year none of the covered calls they sold to generate income have hit the price that they sold the covered call at, so none of it should have been called away. So this should have been free money. The price of BTCI should have tracked the price of BTC, and all the income from selling the covered calls should have been paid out as the 30% dividend. But that is not what we see. (continued below)

$BTCI (2 of 2) For instance YTD BTC is down 27.7% and BTCI is down 36.1%., But if you factor in total returns for the year BTCI is down only 25.5%. So yes it is better, but not that much better. And if you want to keep the value in your account similar to just holding BTC you would have had to reinvest the vast majority of those dividends. If you don’t you would have had about 9% NAV erosion. So you really can’t count on that income because you would have to keep reinvesting it to keep the value close to what just holding BTC would be. Also about 50% of the dividends that BTCI pays is considered income, so if you have it in a taxable account, you will be paying taxes on it whether you reinvest it or not unlike just holding BTC. Lastly BTCI should have outperformed BTC in a down and sideways market way more than it did. This was the best case scenario for BTCI never hitting its call limits all year. Just imagine how much it will underperform once BTC goes up and the upside gets capped.

$BTCI $IBIT $BTC.X Lads, these are the facts. BTCI began October 2024. From October 17, 2024 through late July 2026, with distributions reinvested: IBIT: approximately −5.4% total return BTCI: approximately −5.0% total return That's crazy close, boys. In other words, on a $10,000 starting investment, we're essentially talking about both ending around $9,500 despite BTCI having thrown off HUGE distributions throughout the period. Now, look at the recent downside period, total returns: IBIT BTCI 2025 −6.41% −1.09% 2026 YTD through July 28 −27.21% −24.98% Trailing 1 year −46.14% −41.60% Worst drawdown −53.30% −48.42% That's wacky a.f.! BTCI hasn't merely maintained Bitcoin exposure. The option income has actually provided some downside cushioning during this particular Bitcoin bear market. BTCI is not meant to capture upside. It's meant to provide income. It is doing this, with almost zero real NAV decay. Mark it. 👍💰💓
