Banco Santander will invest
$230 million this year in its Argentine subsidiary to accelerate its digital transformation, the bank announced Monday.
Santander Argentina said the funds will be used to strengthen its technological infrastructure, add new artificial intelligence capabilities, and further develop its digital platforms.
“We want our customers to operate simply and digitally in their daily lives, while also knowing they have access to a service network, specialists, and next-generation self-service banking when needed,” said CEO Alejandro Butti.
According to the bank, 90% of transactions are currently conducted digitally, and 63% of new customers join through online channels.
The growing adoption of digital solutions reflects a clear preference for agility and self-service, especially via mobile devices, which have become central to the everyday banking experience, Santander said.
With 288 branches, Santander serves approximately 5.4 million customers in Argentina.
