Gilat Satellite Networks announced a roughly
$10 million contract to deliver a customized Earth Observation solution over the next 12 months, marking an expansion beyond its core satellite communications business into geospatial intelligence.
The system will leverage satellites equipped with multiple sensors to provide real-time data for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and situational awareness. Gilat described the project as featuring a “first-to-market, transportable direct downlink terminal” designed to securely deliver Earth Observation data to remote locations.
Nicole Robinson, president of Gilat DataPath, said nations increasingly rely on resilient, mission-tailored intelligence to support security, humanitarian operations and first-responder efforts. She added the award reflects confidence in Gilat’s ability to deliver tailored EO capabilities based on its established satellite terminal technology.
