One of the biggest lessons momentum traders need to understand is that we trade the market’s reaction, not the story behind it.
The country of origin, press release, and how impressive a catalyst sounds are all secondary because none of them guarantee sustained momentum.
In fact, some of the strongest catalysts produce absolutely no follow through, while stocks with little or no meaningful news can establish incredible ranges.
What matters is what the market is actually showing you. Aggressive buying pressure, sustained volume, liquidity, clean price action, and clearly defined levels to trade around.
Do not marry the narrative or allow outside noise to influence your conviction. If the data confirms the opportunity, attack it confidently, manage your risk, and make your money.
Let price action prove the catalyst, because the market’s response will always matter more than the headline.
