Rubico Inc., a shipping services provider, announced it has signed a letter of intent for the potential acquisition of a new-build mega yacht from Top Ships Inc. The company plans an upfront cash payment of
$4 million for the M/Y Sanlorenzo 1150Exp, a 60-meter yacht with 1,150 gross tons, capable of hosting 12 guests and 15 crew members, with delivery expected in Q2 2027.
Rubico’s exclusivity under the letter of intent expires on March 31, 2026. The company stressed it will conduct due diligence and assess market conditions before finalizing any transaction, noting that there is no guarantee the acquisition will be completed.
An independent special committee of board members will negotiate and approve any potential acquisition. The
$4 million upfront payment will be credited toward the purchase price or refunded if Rubico decides not to proceed.
