SMJ International Holdings shares fell Friday after the Singapore-based flooring company issued a statement addressing unusual market activity. Under Section 401(d) of the NYSE American Company Guide, SMJ said it had conducted inquiries but had been unable to determine the cause of the recent trading activity or whether any corrective action was necessary.
The company said it was not aware of any material nonpublic information, undisclosed corporate developments or other business events that could explain the unusual movement in its shares. The statement was issued in response to the exchange’s inquiry following heightened trading activity.
SMJ International specializes in premium flooring products, including carpet tiles, broadloom carpets and vinyl tiles, which it sells under its proprietary “SMJ” brand. The company operates in Singapore and more than 20 countries, primarily across Asia.
