$RYCEY Plans for the construction of small nuclear reactors are progressing in the Czech Republic. Representatives of the partially state-owned energy company CEZ and the British firm Rolls-Royce SMR have signed contracts for the preparations for the development and construction of the new mini-nuclear power plants. A first test project is planned for the Temelín site. The British company Rolls-Royce has experience in building nuclear reactors and propulsion systems for nuclear submarines. Its Czech partner, CEZ, aims to build up to six mini-nuclear power plants by 2050 at the sites of existing coal-fired power plants. But the plans go further (!): Together with the British, they intend to conquer the European market, said Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček after a meeting with British Minister for Economic Affairs Peter Kyle in Prague.

$RYCEY Australian Defense Strategy 2026 – Substantial Funding for Nuclear Submarines, Frigates, and Infrastructure On April 17, the Australian government released the National Defence Strategy (NDS), which is published every two years AUKUS takes center stage in both documents. As expected, the bulk of procurement spending is directed toward the program's so-called Pillar 1—the acquisition of nuclear-powered submarines for the Australian Navy Compared to the previous 2024 version, the IIP indicates significant increases in planned investments for the period 2024 to 2033 regarding nuclear-powered submarines under AUKUS Pillar 1, as well as for the new multi-purpose frigates under the SEA 3000 program for the financial years 2026 to 2035. Total planned and approved investments in nuclear-powered submarines are projected to rise to A$71–96 billion (€43–59 billion), compared to the IIP 2024 range of A$53–63 billion (€32–38 billion) good night
