$QS $HMC Honda has a strong incentive to revitalize this massive factory, as idleness would result in huge depreciation expenses. Data centers are increasingly demanding higher battery quantity and performance, including requirements for volumetric energy density, charge/discharge power, lifespan, and safety.
Ohio is located in the US battery production belt and also has supply networks with GM and Ford. Honda will most likely try to establish a
QuantumScape production line at this factory.
Compared to PowerCo in Germany, this is in the United States, which is closer to both the R&D end (QS) and the demand end (data center).
