https://sporked.com/article/best-vodka-cocktails-in-a-can/ I am happy to know that my taste in vodka is confirmed. I too voted for the Stateside Vodka Hard Tea drink. The vodka drinks are going at the White Claw, Truly and Twisted Tea drinkers and they should win because the vodka drinks are much better. Can $MGPI and Pearl position a line of beverages to compete with Absolut vodka soda? I think Pearl vodka is nearly as good as Absolut, and I really like the brand. If they can save the consumer $5 on an 12pk., they will be in a sweet spot in the market and can really makes waves.

$MGPI - Im drinking a few drinks today on the first or second very nice day in Illinois, sunny and 70° -- I had a selection of items left in the cooler, a Vodka Tea and Lemonade by Stateside Vodka was the first drink. This was the best hard tea beverage I have had. It is made with premium vodka and the tea taste like tea. I followed it up with an Arizona Hard Iced tea with lemon. This is "sugar shine" and tea, sugar shine is an alcohol that is produced primarily with bulk granulated cane sugar. It was a fairly terrible drink. It reminded me of how terrible White Claw seltzer, Truly seltzer and High Noon seltzer drinks are. They are the worst drinks because the alcohol in the beverage is cheaper than cheap sugar shine swill. These three rands control around 75 percent of a hard seltzer market that is expected to reach 75B by 2035.

$MGPI - I read the latest 10K - 156M expense on Goodwill and Intangible Assets, another 110M due in '26 for the Penelope bourbon acquisition. It doesn't explain the substantial reduction in revenues but the company still has YoY, but if you exclude Goodwill and a 25M debit for a change in contingent value due to consideration, the company posts an operating income of around $3.50 cents a share. Cash flow was up 20% from '24, they still have strong margins and they are sitting on substantial inventories. The booze doesnt go bad.

$MGPI - I'll take the 25% discount on a good company, Im back in at $19.36 a share. It was a nice escape taking my position off last week before the earnings report. Market didn't like the revenues in '25 but I see it this way. There is market share to be gained with many distillers in the US going out of business and MGP is well positioned. Diageo is one of their biggest customers and they are sitting on 2.5B in cash, they are going to weather the storm. Brands like Seagrams 7, Bulleit Bourbon, George Dickel and Templeton Rye are well priced and known for quality. MGP acquired Pearl Vodka in the Luxco deal in '21. They had distilled a vodka for Diageo in Lawrenceburg, IN called Moon Mountain. I had a couple bottles and it was some of the best vodka I have ever had. I drank both bottles neat. Pearl is an in-house label for MGP and it is good vodka. Yellowstone Bourbon also is well regarded in the budget aisle.

$MGPI to all newbies here- here is my opinion- sell and make up the loss elsewhere from what they forecasted they expect 1.65 adj eps at the midpoint. at a 10x multiple thats 16.5/share. not worth it…. this used to trade at 5 bucks in 2014. remember they got lucky with bourbon if you buy you better pray they get acquired or taken private. otherwise dead money

$MGPI solid company but in a unpredictable industry right now. i am invested long term and believe it either minimize inventory over time so price settles upward or they sell the company to a bigger fish. Consolidation in the industry is invitable.

closed my position in $MGPI a dollar above my stop, took a small gain on the trade but no follow through on the breakout. I still like the stock but like $SPH more and am putting on a trade in $BE -- its setting up how I like, with the 5, 10 and 20 day MA's all converging in a daily trading range. The long-term uptrend is confirmed with the 50, 100 and 200 day MA's all in order. Long at 154 a share, lets see how it goes.
