$GP Sure there was some hiccups LAST year but that’s history. GreenPower (NASDAQ: GP) announced plans to open a manufacturing facility in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, citing the region's EV ecosystem and Foreign Trade Zone benefits. The state committed $14.6 million in incentives, including a $5.0 million LEDA grant, $4.6 million in JTIP funds, $1.36 million in Rural Jobs Tax Credit and $3.65 million in High-Wage Jobs Tax Credit. The project is expected to create 340 permanent jobs, begin setup in Q1 2026 and take possession of the plant on June 1, 2026.

$GP One thing I find interesting is that GreenPower was still granting employee stock options in March 2025 and talking about scaling manufacturing operations just a couple of months before the layoffs. $GP Over the past 10 days, the Gazette-Mail attempted to contact numerous representatives of GreenPower to inquire as to the status of production at the South Charleston facility. Seven phone calls were placed, with three voice messages left and four phone numbers discovered to be disconnected. Five emails also went unanswered. On Tuesday, officials with the City of South Charleston told the Gazette-Mail they have had very little communication with GreenPower, and none within the past 12 months. Representatives with the Gazette-Mail visited the South Charleston facility on Wednesday but were told that no members of management were on site that day and ordered off the property.
