The key line in the agreement is that no other country can make a security sensitive investment in Greenland without US approval. If you have been paying attention, the Trump admin believes energy and critical minerals are the biggest security threat of all and has been supporting investment in those areas since he took office. Notice that no Greenland officials protested this deal, that's because they weren't asked, they were told. IMO, same thing is about to happen with drilling permits.
