The primary dispute stems from Greenland’s passage of a 2021 Uranium Act that effectively banned uranium mining, which halted GDLNF's long-running exploration project. The company has sought up to $11.3 billion (DKK 80 billion) in damages and a recognition of its exploitation rights. On September 1, 2026, GDLNF secured a favorable procedural victory in the High Court of Greenland. The court ruled predominantly in favor of GDLNF regarding which government entities could be named as defendants in the lawsuit. A fractional win to this lawsuit would be HUGE! Imo... 🤑🤑🤑
