SharkNinja Inc. shares rose in after-hours trading after S&P Dow Jones Indices confirmed its inclusion in the S&P MidCap 400, effective before the market open on May 18. The company will replace Flowers Foods, which will be moved to the S&P SmallCap 600.
Flowers Foods also edged higher by 1.4% in after-hours trading following its downgrade to a smaller-cap index, while F&G Annuities & Life gained around 3% after being added to the S&P SmallCap 600. These moves are part of a broader index rebalancing driven by ongoing mergers, acquisitions, and corporate replacements.
CSG Systems is being removed from the index due to its pending acquisition by NEC Corporation, while Mister Car Wash is also exiting following its planned acquisition by Leonard Green & Partners. These changes will take effect before the opening on May 19 for the respective index adjustments.
