Shell: Asian LNG prices need to be less than
$10/MMBTU to spark demand in India but....prices are currently twice this level.
Spot prices in Europe & Asia have gained +67% & +84%, respectively, since the first US strikes on Iran
If these countries can no longer afford LNG, the risk is that they stick w/ coal or turn to renewable power.
Prices may need to fall even further, perhaps below
$5/MMBTU, to have a shot at replacing coal in power generation in China, Cambodia & the Philippines
Countries may invest in local production if they have oil, gas or coal resources, or "leapfrog" gas entirely & double down on renewable energy or nuclear power
