$BFLY On June 24, a series of earthquakes hit Venezuela's La Guaira and Caracas region, collapsing buildings and displacing thousands of families overnight.
In the days that followed, hospitals already stretched thin, took on a wave of patients. Field hospitals went up in parking lots. Refugee camps filled with people who'd lost their homes and in some cases, everything in them. This is what disaster response actually looks like: not clean, not linear, and rarely happening in a place built for care.
Butterfly appeared on the cover of The Wall Street Journal in a photo from the relief effort. A small detail, but one that speaks to a bigger point. Care shouldn't be tied to a building. It should be able to go wherever it's needed.
