Something interesting happening in energy storage right now. A U.S. company, Unigrid, is pushing sodium-ion batteries that could last up to 25 years, basically matching the lifespan of solar panels. That’s a big deal if it holds up, fewer replacements, more predictable costs. At the same time, you’ve got iron-sodium batteries being developed with fully domestic materials, flow batteries scaling in Europe, and even thermal storage systems turning waste heat into usable energy.
