BlackRock has increased its stake in Telefónica for the fifth consecutive time, lifting its holding to 6.24% from 5.94% in April. The position, built through shares and financial instruments, is valued at approximately €1.3 billion (
$1.48 billion) and cements BlackRock as the Spanish telecom group's fourth-largest shareholder. The asset manager has raised its ownership twice in June despite recent weakness in the stock.
Telefónica shares declined for six consecutive sessions between June 15 and June 22 before rebounding 2.6% on Tuesday. During that period, the company paid the second 2025 dividend installment of €0.15 per share, completing a total annual dividend of €0.30 per share. Telefónica has announced it will reduce its 2026 dividend by half to €0.15 per share.
