Natural gas from Qatar's North Field feeds both the LNG liquefaction trains and the downstream petrochemical/fertilizer plants via the same upstream production and processing infrastructure.
When security concerns from the Iranian drone strikes forced a full halt to LNG output, QatarEnergy explicitly extended the shutdown to downstream products, including methanol and urea.
