A crypto directory needs rank, supply, and live quote fields in one pageable response. The Mboum coins endpoint returns that universe so you can build coin tables, search indexes, or scheduled sync jobs without scraping each asset by hand. After this walkthrough you will request page one, read meta paging fields, and inspect the first coin object keys returned in the response.

The docs list a weight of 5 on this route, so treat each page call as heavier than a typical market request when you plan sync jobs. Use the endpoint when you need a paginated cryptocurrency listing with the fields shown below.

👉 To access this endpoint, you must obtain an API key: https://mboum.com/pages/api

The Crypto Coins Endpoint

Coins live under GET /v1/crypto/coins.

Documentation:
https://docs.mboum.com/#crypto-GETapi-v1-crypto-coins

Request

GET https://api.mboum.com/v1/crypto/coins?page=1
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Parameters

  • page — optional integer, minimum 1, maximum 100 (example 1)

Choosing the Request

For this walkthrough send page=1. That optional integer selects which page of the listing you want. Stay between 1 and 100; the endpoint stops at page 100 even when more coins exist in the full catalog.

Start on page 1 while you learn the shape, then increment page in your sync job. Because the route weight is 5, keep page walks deliberate and reuse cached pages when you only need a subset of the universe.

Sample Response

Shortened example of meta plus one coin entry in the data object:

{
  "meta": {
    "page": 1,
    "total": 10000
  },
  "data": {
    "1": {
      "key": "bitcoin",
      "name": "Bitcoin",
      "symbol": "BTC",
      "rank": 1,
      "maxSupply": 21000000,
      "totalSupply": 19500000,
      "isActive": 1,
      "high24h": 68000.12,
      "low24h": 65000.45,
      "quote": {
        "quotes_price": 67000.01,
        "quotes_lastUpdated": "2026-01-15T12:00:00.000Z"
      }
    }
  }
}

Python Example

import requests

url = "https://api.mboum.com/v1/crypto/coins"
headers = {"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"}
params = {"page": "1"}

response = requests.get(url, headers=headers, params=params)
response.raise_for_status()
payload = response.json()
print(payload["meta"]["page"], payload["meta"]["total"])
first = next(iter(payload["data"].values()))
print(first.keys())
print(first["rank"], first["symbol"], first["name"])

Understanding the Response

Meta includes page and total. meta.total is the full listing count, not the size of the current page. data is an object keyed by coin id, not a plain list, so iterate the object values when you render rows.

Each coin includes key, name, symbol, rank, maxSupply, totalSupply, isActive, high24h, low24h, and a quote object with quotes_price and quotes_lastUpdated. Print the first coin's keys in your notebook if you need to confirm the live shape before mapping columns.

Walkthrough

  • Call coins with page=1 and confirm meta.page is 1.
  • Read meta.total so you know the full listing size, then take the first coin from data.values().
  • Print that coin's keys plus rank, symbol, and name, and only then decide how many more pages you need up to the max of 100.

Watch for This

page stops at 100. meta.total is the full listing count, not the size of the current page.

Once page one looks right, keep the same paging style in your sync and stop when you have the ranks you need or when you reach the page ceiling.
