When a company's stock price and market capitalization fall to zero, the shares become completely worthless to investors. It means the company has no equity value remaining, usually following severe financial distress, insolvency, or bankruptcy.
If you own the stock outright (a long position), your investment is completely wiped out. Your shares technically still exist in your brokerage account, but they hold no monetary value and cannot be sold on the open market.
