$NSRGY Nestle reports Q1 revenue CHF 22.082B vs CHF 23.470B Organic growth of 1.4%, with pricing of 3.4% and real internal growth (RIG) of -2.0%. Foreign exchange decreased sales by 6.7%. Net divestitures had a negative impact of 0.6%. Mark Schneider, Nestle CEO, commented: "We had expected a slow start and see a strong rebound in RIG in the second quarter with reliable delivery for the remainder of the year. A wide range of growth initiatives across the Group are now starting to deliver. In North America, we have stepped up our innovation intensity and commercial activities, primarily in frozen food, which lost ground in the first quarter. The integration plan for Nestle Health Science's vitamins, minerals and supplements business is on track, with the turning point expected in the second quarter and strong growth thereafter. Nestle's top priorities remain to execute with excellence, leverage our science and nutrition expertise and drive growth with our billionaire brands. We reiterate our 2024 guidance and look ahead with confidence."

$ALT I'd love it if $NSRGY bought Altimmune. Nestle gets a hedge against lower sales of Haagen Dazs & KoKo Krunch cereal, and every Kit Kat bar can be sold with a Pemvidutide coupon inside.

$CC_F Cocoa briefly surged above $10,000. But it's not just El Niño, the lost crops in West Africa, and the third consecutive year of cocoa deficit in the physical market to blame. Recently, we've been seeing a short squeeze. Significantly, many of these shorts weren't opened by reckless traders but by hedgers. Selling futures against future delivery seems risk-free, but it's not. Even if the physical commodity is available by the futures' expiry (which currently can't be guaranteed with cocoa), it's crucial to have sufficient capital to support a short futures position. And when a relatively low-volatility commodity rises by 100% in two months, it comes as a surprise to many, often ending in a margin call and forced position closure. Hedging future deliveries with naked futures is risky. Don't be greedy – buy OTM Call to cover risk of a price spike. $HSY $NSRGY
