Request STOCKS for AAPL
GET /v2/markets/stock/short-interest needs a ticker and a type. This call uses AAPL and STOCKS. ETF, MUTUALFUNDS, and FUTURES are the other documented type values, and each one is its own request.
Method: GET
URL: https://api.mboum.com/v2/markets/stock/short-interest
Documentation: short interest
Walk the settlement dates
The script prints meta.symbol, then settlementDate, interest, avgDailyShareVolume, and daysToCover for each row.
import requests
url = "https://api.mboum.com/v2/markets/stock/short-interest"
headers = {"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"}
params = {"ticker": "AAPL", "type": "STOCKS"}
response = requests.get(url, headers=headers, params=params)
response.raise_for_status()
payload = response.json()
print(payload["meta"]["symbol"])
for row in payload["body"]:
print(row["settlementDate"], row["interest"], row["avgDailyShareVolume"], row["daysToCover"])
Parse the share strings
The first row in the published sample looks like this.
{
"settlementDate": "01/12/2024",
"interest": "101,263,039",
"avgDailyShareVolume": "56,712,342",
"daysToCover": 1.785556
}
meta.symbol is aapl. The other full rows written out in the sample use those same four keys. One limitation: interest and avgDailyShareVolume are comma-formatted strings, and daysToCover is already a number, so the two share fields have to be parsed before a chart can add them.
