How to Pull Stock News Headlines with the Mboum API

Market headlines move faster than a daily research note. If you are building a watchlist, a dashboard, or an alert, you need the latest story for a symbol without scraping a news site yourself.

The Mboum API exposes a single news endpoint for that. Pass a ticker to get headlines for one company, or leave the ticker off to get the broader industry feed.

The News Endpoint

Headlines live under GET /v1/markets/news. The ticker is optional. Send ticker or symbol when you want one company. Omit both when you want the industry feed.

Request

A company request looks like this:

GET https://api.mboum.com/v1/markets/news?ticker=AAPL
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

For the industry feed, call the same path with no ticker:

GET https://api.mboum.com/v1/markets/news
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

What comes back

Each headline includes:

• title — the headline
• link — the story URL
• pubDate — when it was published
• description — a short summary
• guid — a stable id you can use to skip stories you have already shown

Store the guid if you poll this endpoint on a timer. That keeps a dashboard from repeating the same story each time the feed refreshes.
