The range of an intraday bar is the high minus the low, and the close shows where that bar finished inside the range.
This walkthrough follows the intraday response example, where each row carries a clock time.

Request the example window
startDate and endDate on an intraday interval are 14 digits, YYYYMMDDHHMMSS. The request is the window published with the response example.
Place the close inside the range
Subtract low from high. When that span is wider than zero, divide the close's distance from the low by the span. The script prints the clock time, the span, and that position.

response = requests.get(url, headers=headers, params=params)
response.raise_for_status()
payload = response.json()
for bar in payload.get("body", [])[:5]:
span = bar["high"] - bar["low"]
position = None if span == 0 else (bar["close"] - bar["low"]) / span
print(bar["datetime"], span, position)
The excerpt is the first bar in the example file, and the file continues after it. datetime has a date and a clock time. The example file also echoes limit, order, dividends, and splits.

When the clock is the wrong width
A startDate that is not 14 digits on an intraday interval returns status 400 and the message: Invalid startDate format for intraday interval. Must be YYYYMMDDHHMMSS format (e.g., 20260101000000). endDate uses that same width. Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly rows carry symbol and date instead of datetime, so this division reads the intraday fields.
