$YRD They are now dividening out 10% of their earnings - or 0.40 a year semi-annual (~9% yield). Added in the 4.50s today and yesterday given tax loss season and tangible book is at $15.00 - likely not massive downside from this point. So what will be the big catalyst to get this moving in 2025 since book and earnings are not cutting it? Most of these groups do 30-40% payout, which would send this flying if they change the policy. They have also recently hinted at "capital management", which could mean a large special dividend coming. Either way - find buying at this price and lower.

@Oranges44 $LU, $AIFU, $NOAH, $YRD, and $IMAB are some others that seem to attract similarly minded investors. I'm not saying I like/dislike them all the same, but they're all on the small side.

$YRD f the reported numbers are accurate and we can rely on their reports, this company would be a tremendous opportunity and is practically a steal. Could this really be the case, or is there something I’m missing? According to this, the stock shouldn’t be worth less than $13 per share

@lillaccio @JohnTill jtill was saying this was no good 200 percent ago when I invested. Also lu is garbage and doesn't have ping protecting anything. Ping siphons the money out of it and screws shareholders. They did some really shady shit. I luv yrd and have for a long time now, but hate that jtill is in it. That's a death kiss.

@JohnTill Thank you for the useful information, I’ll keep monitoring.
It seems its big value comes from the book value as you mentioned, having even a better ratio than YRD.
I read also an article from seeking alpha to just have a better understanding of the phase, seems to be as u mentioned a turnaround story (they already guided for 2025 to get back to profitability with over 2 billion yuan and almost 3 billion in 2026).
Having a 7.30 conversion rate and approximately 2 billion dollars of capitalization the forward 2026 should be about 5, but $YRD has already a PE under 2 with historically much higher margins (but that may have been because they were historically less focused on guarantee business, so now that metric may change due to higher upfront provisions required).
Having said that, for now I still prefer $YRD but will of course continue to dive deeper into the $LU story to seek other info.

$YRD This is the most important statement .... "Provision for contingent liability in this quarter increased to RMB272 million from RMB11 million in the same period of 2023. This is a result of a continued growth in loan volumes and our new risk-taking model, which required substantial upfront provision according to the current accounting standard. However, this provision will be periodically recognized in the P&L as guaranteed service fee over time."... easy to do the math and the same boat LU is in and why their our the ugly stepsister right now to LX and QFIN. Nobody can look a year down the road to realize all the "losses" now book at profits down the road. Taking this into account, current earnings are almost equal to the MC or PE = 1.5

$YRD I flipped out a few at ~$5.30 to lower my cost avg. and thought it was a mistake at the time. I was surprised to see my low ball bids from $4.60 down all get hit this morning. So bought it all back and far more. Still have a much larger position in $LU now but expect a Christmas run on Ch. Fintech. and preparing now.

$YRD I have not owned in a long time but added a few in the $4.50s today as a starter. With China stimulus on the horizon combined with earnings, 30% tangible book value and shareholder friendly buybacks+dividends with more on the horizon I am liking the risk-reward from this point down. I will add on weakness if nothing changes. Similar to Lufax - they had reduced earnings this quarter since they have keep moving to loans facilitated under their risk-taking model. So they take "losses" upfront and you get ugly numbers early on but payoffs down the road.

$YRD Cash decreased due to investing activities. Tnagible BV increased again. Liquidate value for this company is now 15.12$/share. I'm convinced this will trade at TBV someday... So, I'll keep holding.

$YRD That's interesting: "As of September 30, 2024, cash and cash equivalents were RMB3,705.9 million (US$528.1 million), compared to RMB5,496.9 million as of June 30, 2024. The decline is due to our long-term investments in business expansion and potential acquisitions, which are still in the early stages and have not been finalized."

$YRD on short term, this seems boring and always red, but on a two years time frame, the chart show a beautiful staircase movement from 0.8 to the current price level (more than 700% above). Nevertheless, we are also more than 80% down from ATH touched in 2017 (back when Chinese stocks were cool).
