$OVV Ovintiv price target raised to $48 from $46 at Wells Fargo Wells Fargo raised the firm's price target on Ovintiv to $48 from $46 and keeps an Equal Weight rating on the shares. The firm said in a research note on Friday that doubling down on flagship Montney assets while streamlining portfolio with minimal net investment is a clear positive. The deals also remove M&A overhang on Ovintiv's shares.

Ovintiv $OVV has agreed to sell its Uinta Basin assets—spanning 126,000 net acres with production of 29,000 barrels per day—to FourPoint Resources, Quantum Capital Group, and Kayne Anderson for $2 billion. FourPoint, with backing from Quantum and Kayne Anderson, plans to boost production and cash flow from the “high-quality, inventory-rich” assets.

$OVV Ovintiv is about to get bought out. They are laying off some of their top paid (and most accomplished) employee's to ostensibly clean up their balance sheet. I have inside (but second hand) information on this process.

Looks like momentum investing applies to oil stocks as well. $XOM hits a new 52 week high as much cheaper $CHRD, $DVN, and $OVV go up less in spite of being much closer to their 52 week lows.

@Fineststk $CHRD, $DVN, and $OVV are all very cheap. One of the reasons I sold $XLE is because it was fairly valued relative to the price of oil, unlike these names.

Ovintiv (OVV) is speculated to be been approached by Coterra Energy about a possible takeover, according to a StreetInsider report on Tuesday. Ovintiv is believed to have hired an investment bank amid the interest.

$OVV The company has a P/E ratio of 5, the company has $600 million in shares at an average price of $46 per share. Also, they just had an annual buyback renewal. On top of all of this, the average analyst price target goes from $50-$60 per share. Plenty of upside for this one considering it is fundamentally undervalued, company is confident in that value for future growth, and analysts all have targets that are at least 40 percent above current price.

$OVV too low not to dip my toes in. I may have gotten the final purchase of the day. Even a small reversal in oil will be enough to pop Ovintiv back up a buck.

$OVV Ovintiv price target lowered to $60 from $69 at Barclays Barclays lowered the firm's price target on Ovintiv to $60 from $69 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares. The analyst says the Q2 results for the oil and exploration and production space generally fared better than expected with higher production, better cost, and lower capex. U.S. production remains resilient as operators continue to find efficiency gains, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm points out that companies with improving second half of 2024 and 2025 outlooks and/or increased buyback have outperformed.
