@LeonardNimoy @ToddyP1 lol dude everyone knows about Neutron not being a single rocket, but cash reserves and CAPEX projections aren’t infinite. RUDs may be expected in the industry, but each failure carries: 1. Investor confidence risk – If Neutron fails spectacularly, Rocket Lab’s reputation takes a hit. 2. Capital raising challenges – They already burn $40M per quarter with limited cash reserves ($200M as of Q2 2024). Any serious failure increases dilution risk or even insolvency if markets turn. 3. Historical precedent – Look at Astra ($ASTR) or Virgin Orbit. Both had production lines and ‘priced-in failures’… until they didn’t. Being bullish is fine, but expecting repeated failures without understanding the financial runway is risky optimism

@Brrrttt @ToddyP1 Actually, the risk of Rocket Lab $RKLB running into financial trouble isn’t far-fetched. Historically, rocket launches are high-cost and high-failure endeavors. One major failure can tank investor confidence. For context: • Rocket Lab’s operating losses hit $145M in 2023 despite revenue growth. • They burn through ~$40M per quarter in cash. • Their cash reserves as of Q2 2024 stand at $200M—meaning they’d survive just over a year without external funding. A catastrophic Neutron failure could not only drop the stock but also choke off future funding, especially in a rising interest rate environment. Companies like $ASTR are perfect examples of how a single failure can spiral toward bankruptcy. Risk management isn’t ‘12-year-old typing’—it’s basic investing.

@ElonTusk__ Unpopular opinion: I’m bearish on Rocket Lab for 2025 and not optimistic about the Neutron launch vehicle. I’ve seen this play out before. The current optimism around Rocket Lab neutron reminds me of the hype around $ASTR rocket 3.3, which ultimately faltered. The community seems to have a short memory when it comes to these cautionary tales. Frankly, I doubt Neutron will successfully make it to orbit on its maiden flight. The challenges of scaling up are immense, and history shows how often first attempts at this scale fail. On the other hand, I’m bullish on Blue Origin. Jeff Bezos has both the resources and the motivation to dominate. He’s shown he’s willing to spend whatever it takes to win—especially after the public race with Richard Branson over their passenger rides to space. I wouldn’t bet against Bezos leveraging Blue Origin to squeeze rklb and Vinod Khosla out of the launch game entirely. Keep in mind, Neutron is 80% paylod of Falcon 9 at 85% of the cost. Price war.

$ASTR Was in it start to finish, this was a rug pull. Really surprised there isnt more legal action against them however I do want them to succeed. For them to get it totally right once and then mess it up and go private for cheap? That’s fishy

$ASTR anyone still here? be strong

User Image devdue1900 Posted - 1 month ago

@Dfvv totally. I had a fantasty of $ASTR totally surging past $40 tomorrow, but now I am not so sure....I only have $600 at stake so in terms of risk/reward, I am OK looking at minimum a 10x return or losing it all, not too much riding on this. But idk. hope there is a short squeeze or something lol

$LUNR Comparison to Key Competitors: $SPCE: Virgin Galactic, which focuses on space tourism and eventually wants to offer satellite services. $ASTR: Astra Space, which focuses on launching small satellites and supports some lunar missions. $RKLB: Rocket Lab, a launch provider that’s expanding into lunar and deep space services. $LLAP: Terran Orbital, which makes satellites and focuses on government and commercial space needs.

Watching this show “Wild Wild Space” on HBO MAX about $RKLB & $ASTR , (as well as other players like Planet Labs, SpaceX etc), pretty interesting. I recommend you check it out if you haven’t (Gives you pretty good insight into the beginning of these companies). https://m.imdb.com/title/tt32258850/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
