$MGNI $TTD $NFLX $UAL “They [United] are so concerned about their data, that they really want to keep it as close to them as possible. So that helps with the supply side argument versus putting it in a DSP. That was the early days of it, Walmart partnering with Trade Desk very successfully. The early day was: pick a DSP, put my data in there and then buyers can come by and find the data in that the DSP. I think what some folks have found is a leeriness of having the data so far away if you are in the retail media network, but almost more importantly, it’s not DSP agnostic. So in other words, you’re now forcing partners that may want to access that data to switch DSPs to go use that DSP because that’s where the data is. As opposed to if you go with the supply side then you can use any DSP you want, as the data is sitting here behind my firewall so come on in and buy the way you’ve always bought. So I think that’s a growing trend that we’re seeing.”

$NFLX $ROKU $TTD Roku still earns revenue and gets ecosystem benefits from AVOD providers. The flip side TTD will have very little distribution potential on their OS for years considering that it won’t even launch for another year and growth doesn’t materialize overnight, as we’ve seen in this space time and time again. And secondly it calls into question TTD’s value prop as a neutral 3rd party programmatic buyer of inventory in the CTV ecosystem. When they have their own OS they’re obviously going to favor themselves, which is a clear conflict of interest for performance based advertising campaigns. I sold my TTD yesterday. I hate this move for them. Plus Jeff Green is a f*cking liar and you can’t trust grimy people like that.

Jefferies on $ROKU (Underperform; $55 PT): "Streaming Distribution (SSD) Under Pressure for Roku (~40% of Platform Revenue): By far the biggest takeaway from the $TTD OS news was the endorsements from execs at DIS, PARA, and TUBI. This marks the first major indication of streamers considering a pivot away from Roku’s SSD model, which we estimate accounts for ~40% of platform revenue. Previously, $NFLX was the only major streamer to shift away from Roku’s services. This development may signal that other streamers are open to making a similar move, especially given the current industry shift toward AVOD. While this transition is unlikely to happen overnight—Roku still holds ~50% of viewing hours on CTV in the US (Comscore)—it does raise questions about the long-term viability and growth potential of SSD revenue." $TTD all I will say is this , I been in ttd a really long time It's a very well executing company and if you never heard of it $ROKU fanboys, that's on you
Small position in Ira , cost in 20's, I also own a good size position in my main account
- ttd is expensive and I have recently trimmed a little near the highs , but it's a keeper - this is a huge negative for Roku, a key partner just became a dangerous competitor No Roku position, mostly because the vision of being the ubiquitous tv OS will never happen because anyone who makes a decent tv has kept the operating system to themselves like LG Sony does use google I had a Roku stick back in the day to get an old tv on the internet , and the Roku os is better and easier to use then many manufacturers os, but I just don't think Roku is gonna work Long ttd
No Roku position

$TTD $ROKU Trade Desk reveals new streaming TV operating system, Roku falls Trade Desk (TTD) announced that it has developed Ventura, a new streaming TV operating system. Trade Desk will partner with smart TV original equipment manufacturers and other streaming TV aggregators to deploy Ventura, the company said earlier in a statement. "Ventura represents a major advance in streaming TV operating systems as it solves key issues with prevailing market systems today, including frustrating user experiences, inefficient advertising supply chains, and content conflicts-of-interest," it added. Trade Desk expects that Ventura will be deployed by manufacturers and other streaming TV aggregators as early as 2025. The stock in early trading is up around 3% while Roku (ROKU), which has a competing TV operating system, is down over 7%.

We bought $TTD yesterday in the ROOM. Then this: $TTD ANNOUNCES VENTURA SMART TV OS The Trade Desk revealed Ventura, a new streaming TV operating system designed to address inefficiencies in streaming ad processes and improve user experiences. Set to launch with partners by 2025, Ventura will: — Streamline content discovery and subscription management. — Reduce advertising costs with a cleaner supply chain. — Use tools like OpenPath and UID 2.0 for precise audience targeting. The system has received support from Disney, Paramount, and Tubi, among others, as it aims to enhance the ad-supported streaming model amidst the ongoing shift from traditional TV to streaming platforms.

$ROKU overreaction. $TGT huge miss hurting shares and then $TTD releasing Ventura. This will only bolster $ROKU. My prediction Ventura is a massive failure and $TTD is forced to exit the market or buy $ROKU. Will take time to play out.
