Pemex said a fire on an offshore Akal-B oil platform, over the weekend left 1 worker dead & 9 injured -- the latest in a string of accidents. Pemex said the fire broke out at 16.48 hrs local time on Saturday in the area where the pipelines that handle gas are located, adding that it had activated emergency protocols & contained it. The blaze broke out in the Campeche Sound, a key energy producing region off the coast of southeastern Mexico. Platform produces 200Kbpd or crude. $USO $CVX $SU $XOM $CVE
