$SMHI should not be just be viewed in isolation, but also within the context of the broader sector. They service an industry charging 3x what they were a year ago for transport. This WILL translate to increased revenue for SEACOR while operating overhead remains constant. The incremental increases we’re seeing after it bottomed are here to stay for plenty long enough to make $ with minimal risk.

@G_R_ "July call options that are underwater 😀" A Dad joke....a man after my own heart :o) Thanks for the feedback. My gut is telling me TDW earnings should be decent but I'm hoping I don't end up with a stomach ache. Btw, $SMHI you know what the bed last night with their earnings but the stock is flat today. I am hoping that means they said something that suggested the sector was positive even though they missed. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to listen to the call. Guess we'll see with TDW tonight. Again, hope all is well withe you and don't forget to stay in touch with your ST Godfather ;o)

@Devils123 I believe a leader is $TDW (I've been in it for a while). I'm also in $VAL and $SMHI along with $NE. Watching RIG and DO but there are others as well. I'm sure you saw $SLB's acquisition today.

IMHO, based on company reports, offshore drillers are in the midst of a longer term up-cycle. My biggest holding in the space is $TDW :

$SMHI bullish for SMHI and their GOM fleet business EOA Rig Count Report Oil-directed rig count in tight plays is increasing (with 7 charts) Anas Alhajji, Mar 15 ∙ Preview (freebie to email subs) MAIN TAKEAWAY The most noticeable development is adding three rigs in offshore Gulf of Mexico. While we remain bullish on offshore drilling globally, it remains to be seen if the rig count in the Gulf of Mexico will increase to levels we have not seen since 2019. It is clear now that the decline in rig count last week was mostly related to moving rigs. We gained 7 rigs last week, which was the decline in the previous week (although the make up in term of oil and gas is slightly different)

@net0trader @MaverikIT @IsabellaDC @RonIsWrong @Wigglyick IMHO, offshore drillers are also poised for an up-cycle. I have been in $TDW and $VAL for a little while. I'm also in $SMHI and looking to possibly buy a couple others.

Recent announcements about project cancellations in the Middle East and U.S. wind are not expected to impact our vessels engaged in those areas, and we see growing demand from other regions. Finally, we recently announced our commitment to acquire four state-of-the-art energy storage systems, which will be used to upgrade four of our newest PSVs to hybrid power. We currently plan to conduct these upgrades as the systems deliver in late 2024 and 2025. Once installed, more than 50% of our PSV fleet will be hybrid powered, furthering our efforts to enhance operational efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of our fleet.”
