$VOXX $GNTX Mexico and USA update the USMCA and America's largest trade partner, Mexico, keeps going strong. Mexico exports to USA trade now exceeds China's exports to USA. Perhaps Gentex made the offer for all of Voxx because they wanted to have a manufacturing plant in Mexico. Gentex, if memory serves me right, manufactures their products only in USA.

$GNTX Gentex reports Q3 EPS 53c, consensus 48c Reports Q3 revenue $608.5M, consensus $592.14M. "During the third quarter of 2024, light vehicle production weakened across all major regions, but especially in our primary markets. When compared to the third quarter of 2023, light vehicle production declined by 6% this quarter in North America, Europe and Japan/Korea, which was significantly worse than the 3% quarter over quarter decline forecasted at the beginning of the quarter," said Gentex President and CEO, Steve Downing. "The production declines resulted in a sales shortfall of approximately $25 - $30 million for the quarter, but despite that weakness in our end markets, we were able to outperform our primary markets by 12%," commented Downing.

I'm hoping there is a sell the ER info and guidance so I can reload, because I think $GNTX $5.50/sh offer is steal for Gentex to get into premium vehicle audio systems. $VOXX what buyout price would most longs be happy with? The 52 week high back in December was $11.74, but traded at $14.75 back in April 2023. $GNTX already owns 32% of the shares outstanding (just loaded more this past week). There are only about 14M VOXX shares Gentex doesn’t already own. A buyout at $15.00 per share would only cost GNTX about $200M to purchase the remaining 68% of outstanding shares. Gentex has a market cap of $7B and hundreds of millions in cash. This buyout would be chump change for GNTX. GNTX or other suitors could choose to buy up shares on the open market or tender an offer. The free trading float is very small at around 5-7M shares, so VOXX could see a violent move to the upside as longs, shorts, tutes, and potential buyout suitors scramble to load shares. Should be a very exciting September with VOXX announcing last week they are open to buyout offers!
