$AQN $AQN.TSX $AQNU Globe says Algonquin Power maintained at "hold" 2024-11-07 07:33 ET The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Nov. 7, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Brent Stadler has an unchanged "hold" recommendation on Algonquin Power & Utilities. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Stadler trimmed his share target to $4.75 from $5.25 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares $5.59. Mr. Stadler says in a note: "Algonquin Power's Q3 results are likely to be noisy and we have reduced our estimates. Further, we have trimmed our 2025 and 2026 estimates to better reflect the expected recovery on the [$1-billion] of prior investments. We continue to view the targeted 60– to 70-per-cent payout ratio as potentially achievable in 2027, implying EPS of [40 cents] at the midpoint. Investors should remain on the sidelines heading into year-end given the potential for downward estimate revisions, tax-loss selling and possible removal from the TSX 60."

User Image Bobberty Posted - 2 days ago

$AQN oh no, terrible results again. If only there was some way to shore up their financials while they try and right this sinking ship. Cut the dividend to 1 penny a Q already. This is painful to watch.

$AQN Well, at this point it's priced for bankruptcy. I don't really see how that could happen considering the strength of its balance sheet, but I guess inept management can destroy any company.

User Image Bobberty Posted - 1 week ago

$AQN 52 week lows!!!! It's apparently what everyone wants. Because sustainable dividends are bad but a payout ratio between 150%-300% has been totally awesome!!! Good thing this isn't like those utilities in the 80% range with strong stock prices.

$AQN new lows?

User Image Bobberty Posted - 10/29/24

$AQN in 8 years they added $7 billion in debt to pay sky high dividends. Instead of acknowledging this wasn't a sustainable business practice in a higher rate environment they continued with it. I know most people here don't care about financials but the people with real investment dollars do. It's time the company cleans up it's books and does a serious house cleaning. The BoD and CEO need replacing and I'm sad that Starboard didn't do that. Of course Starboard has a poor track record so it's not to surprising they'd mess this up as well.
