$AY any price above $22.00 expects that they will pay out at least one more dividend. Sale might be held up by regulatory approvals. They operated in a lot of different countries and jurisdictions.

$AY the sale price for the takeover is set at $22. Why would anyone be trading it above or below that price now?

$AY do you think today was the last dividend ever? Or do you think there will be one more dividend? I guess it depends on when the deal closes.

$BEPC $BEP any idea what could let this tick up? It seems like it’s involved in whatever has a daily downturn… What is feels being in YieldCos $BEPC $BEP $AY $NEP since January 2021 (the last 3.5 years):
- Interest rates go up —> oh no
- Interest rates tend to go down —> dead cat bounce
- Trump will win elections - Sell green stocks!
- Kamela will win elections - Sell because she’s not Trump.
- Stock rotation - Get out of BEPC of course!
- Tech Sell-off - Sell BEPC because they just signed a HUGE new deal with Microsoft to power AI and because BEPC now is involved in the AI-bubble.
- $AY gets bought out for a cheap price - Guess that’s bad for all YieldCos - sell some more.
- Russel 2000 drops - BEPC drops because it’s a small stock
- Oil drops - suddenly BEPC is an energy stock again and drops... once… again.
Are YieldCos simply misunderstood and put into literally all sectors, and are affected more by downturns than upward swings because people still don’t know what a YieldCo is?

@tree777 @AlbertanThor buy out in general is not bad, if it’s for the right price. Valuation right now is very low. Look what happened at $AY. Shares were very low, at around $26 when it was announced that the company would be taken private (sold) for $22 per share. So basically retail shareholders are feeling betrayed. The final shareholder vote if the transaction is legit happening is in August though. Since AQN holds like 40% of shares though, it’s likely that the deal will go through. Similar thing could happen with $NEP with $NEE as a shareholder…

@AlbertanThor exactly my thought. Same happens with $AY. Hopefully not the same story.

$AY I just received my voting notice for approval of the acquisition. The $22 share price is way too low considering how much the overall market appreciated since April. I am voting against this. I think we all should vote against it!!!

$NEP There is some speculation swirling that $NEE took out the 1.9bn offering to go ahead and buy in the rest of NEP shares and take it private. Let's run some numbers to see what that looks like. $AY is being taken private by $AQN for about 1.66x book value which is lower than it's typically traded on those assets. Right now NEP is trading at .74x book value at $28. We can then guesstimate a takeunder price around say, 1.5X or $57 per unit. Sounds high? Lets see, NEE owns 55% of NEP, meaning the public float outside the parent is 45% or roughly 42M shares. If NEE made an offer to NEP holders at the lower end, say the offering of 1.9bn, that's right at $45 per share for NEP and then NEE would pull in all that value and have much better financing options. Seems quite viable IMHO. If you want to air on the ultimate conservative side, they could take NEP private near $35 but that will likely get some pushback IMHO.
