$ADM The best news about ADM is that food won't ever become obsolete. Lack of terminal value! It was highly unlikely that they were going to give an optimistic conference call given that they were burdened by the accounting issues. Better to paint a bleak picture and give themselves time to clean it up. Lots of stuff going wrong at the same time. Biofuel uncertainty. Tariff uncertianty. RFK Jr. idiocy. Not to mention plant closures and maintenance issues. Should be okay at some point--more of a question of when.

$ADM Unsurprised by stock weakness--especially with downgrades. At the same time--bad news is certainly priced in. They had the cover of the accounting issues to buy themselves time in terms of eventually presenting good news. Lots of macro head winds that should subside at some point. Regulatory and Trump Tariffs being #1 and #2 and crop prices right up there. If/when this turns around it will do so in a hurry--but we might be talking quite some time until it does.

$ADM Depressing conference call. The accounting issues aren't the problem. It's the glut of crops coupled with potential regulatory and tariff issues. Stock price reflects this risk. But that was one glum phone call. The good news is that food will never be obsolete and ADM has an enormous moat/oligopoly.
