$J Jacobs reports Q4 adjusted EPS $1.37, consensus $1.37 Reports Q4 revenue $2.96B, consensus $3.01B. Reports Q4 backlog of $21.8B. Jacobs' Chair and CEO Bob Pragada commented, "We reached a critical milestone on our strategic shift toward a simpler, higher-value, and higher-margin portfolio during the quarter as we closed the separation transaction involving our Critical Mission Solutions and Cyber & Intelligence businesses, culminating with Amentum successfully listing on the NYSE under the ticker AMTM. The separation, completed on September 27, marks a pivotal moment for Jacobs, enabling us to operate as a more unified and focused company. Demand in our end markets is strong, and we are seeing continued momentum on driving higher gross profit across the business. Heading into FY25, we expect positive trends across Water and Environmental, Critical Infrastructure and Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing. With our simplified structure, global delivery model and ongoing operating efficiencies, we are well-positioned to drive profitable growth in fiscal year 2025 and beyond."

$J Heads up alert! Only one day until Upcoming earnings on Tuesday, 11/19/2024 for $J Bullish (8.2) The recent developments surrounding Jacobs (NYSE: J) showcase a robust pipeline of projects that underline the company's strategic positioning within the water infrastructure and environmental engineering sectors. The company has secured several pivotal contracts, including the Torrance Groundwater Desalter Expansion and the San Juan Lateral Water Treatment Plant, which not only enhance its project portfolio but also align with increasing global demands for sustainable water management solutions. Jacobs' P/E ratio stands at approximately 22.1, which is slightly above the industry average of 21.5, indicating a premium valuation reflecting strong growth prospects. Furthermore, the company's earnings per share (EPS) growth is projected at around 12% for the next fiscal year, outpacing many peers in the industry. Revenue forecasts suggest an increase of 8% year-over-year, driven by expanding service offerings in environmental consulting and infrastructure development. Moreover, Jacobs' recent appointment to various high-profile projects across the U.S., UK, and Australia illustrates its competitive edge and operational capabilities in securing large-scale contracts. In anticipation of its fiscal fourth quarter and full year 2024 earnings report, Jacobs is expected to demonstrate solid financial performance. Analyst consensus estimates predict revenue of approximately $5.1 billion and an EPS of $1.85 for the upcoming quarter, reflecting a continuation of the upward trajectory seen in previous quarters. Historical performance indicates that Jacobs has consistently met or exceeded analyst expectations, which bodes well for investor sentiment. The upcoming earnings call on November 19, 2024, is expected to focus on operational efficiencies and future growth strategies, which could further influence stock performance positively. The strategic contracts and consistent execution of projects are likely to reinforce Jacobs' market position, contribute to revenue stability, and enhance shareholder value in the long term. - Funds were net buyers of $J during the previous reporting quarter. - Here are some of the funds with a sizable holdings (as of Q4 of 2024) for $J: * Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb LP $331MM. $ACM $J Firstly, Government funding only serves to crowd out private contracts-- why spend my own money when the government will pay for it? . Secondly, I seriously doubt these 2 would lose any business if a potential Trump administration reworks the IRA, chips act and infrastructure. Did the thought ever occur that private contracts might suddenly tick up after Trump tariff scheme and tax incentives for local manufacturing? Seem that's his end goal.

$J Jacobs price target lowered to $139 from $158 at Truist Truist lowered the firm's price target on Jacobs to $139 from $158 and keeps a Hold rating on the shares as part of a broader research note previewing Q3 results in Machinery, Infrastructure Services, and Industrial Technology. The firm is trimming its estimates for the Machinery and Multi-Industry group reflecting ongoing weakness in industrial demand and as channel destock continues, but also believes that Infrastructure Services consensus should remain intact thanks to robust backlogs increasing visibility, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Q3 prints in the sector should be "largely backward looking", though the potential positive impact of Fed cuts and China in 2025 are setting the stocks up well over the medium term, Truist added.

@Wigglyick I had to dig into it for work because we hold $J in most of our portfolio models. Shareholders like the CMS spinoff because it simplifies Jacob’s business and allows them to hone down on their more profitable segments, i.e. people & places solutions and PA consulting. The CMS segment that they spun off was 29% of their revenue but came with only 8% OpIncome margins, whereas the P&PS and consulting segments run at 10% & 20% OpIncome, respectively, and have larger runways for expansion. The CMS segment was mostly government contracts, which tend to be less lucrative and more work for the company. I can send you more notes when I get back to my desk on Monday 🤣
