$IMKTA Please consider giving financial support to people in WNC.
It's worse than you think. I've talked to or heard from most of my friends there, but they have told stories of witnessing death and loss that will make your hair turn white. They need gasoline, fresh water, cleaning/hygiene supplies, medical/first aid, and non-perishables. And a universal sentiment I've heard is that unless you have a piece of heavy equipment or a chainsaw and are planning to get to work, they need you to fuck off and not come there. It's already hard enough to get in or out of the region without all the out of state plates on the road.
Thank you.

$SPY Not to sound like a huge arsehole but is anyone making any "hurricane plays"? I've been looking to add $IMKTA as a long for a while now but adding it now feels like karma will curse my family for generations to come

$IMKTA Ingles Markets Incorporated says Hurricane Helen impacts stores, distribution Ingles Markets, Incorporated announced that Hurricane Helene has impacted both stores and distribution center operations. "Our hearts are heavy for those in our communities who lost lives, loved ones, homes and access to basic necessities," the company said. "Hurricane Helene brought with it unprecedented flooding and property damage, together with continuing power and water outages, which have impacted our footprint of operations. Currently, of our 198 stores, 186 stores are open for business, but a lack of internet access and other connectivity has limited transactions in many locations. Of the locations that remain closed, we expect all will reopen upon restoration of power to their respective areas, but we do not have a timeline for power restoration."

$IMKTA I knew on Monday morning there is money to be made on short side here due to the devastation. Anyone that understands the NC mountains knows that a huge concentration of their business just got smoked last week by the storm and people will not be traveling to these areas for a while. This business is going to be in a world of hurt. However, I can't bring myself to try to profit on the uncontrolled catastrophe of others.

$IMKTA @MoonMarket_ @Paraboljoker interested investors. This 200+ food store chain very nice supermarket chain has a major problem. 140 of it stores are almost ruined as supplies inside are thawed, ruined,,, many still power off. The DC is also in peril... they have many millions of dollars damage. The are self insured with a $32.4M stash but all but $4M is already committed on other legal projections BEFORE the Helena debacle.. Long time before profit will show up here... Study.. Is this gonna be $40 or less in a few months???? Think so here..

$IMKTA this is not mismanagement in any way but is a tragedy of mega proportion as so much of their business is in the area HELENA afflicted.. Power out, roads out, perishable products in huge amounts having to be thrown away.. Main DC basically temporarily shut down.. Watching for more info but thinking it will be worse than I see right now. This can see sub $40 within a month.

$IMKTA project $1/2M per store write off x 140 stores in affected areas, plus the operation center is going to be closed, cleaned, sanitized, restocked after throwing away on huge mess… Is this not a $100+M damage on a self insured company and it still may not open up for weeks.. Trying to assess.. Yes I got Puts, but trying to come up with values.. I think they have to file this catastrophe tomorrow with SEC since it is such a Material Event..

$IMKTA copied from a FB post. #4 is a serious point. Heads up. Please share!!! I just spoke with the manager at Ingles on 74/226 when I called in to let him know that Abby won’t be working today because she is at her dads home in Lincolnton because he has power. He gave me some info regarding the store policy. 1) The card readers are down so it is CASH ONLY!! 2) Only 20 people are allowed in the store at one time. 3) There is only one register open as the others are not operational. It’s not because there aren’t cashiers to work. It’s that the other 5 registers are down. Self checkout is also not an option. 4) What they have on stock in the store is all they have. The distribution center in Asheville was underwater and everything was lost and the food delivery trucks can’t get out anyhow. There are no frozen foods as everything had to be disposed of.

$IMKTA I live 40 miles from Black Mtn.. I shop multi times weekly at INGLES... This is huge loss for all tthe meat in warehouse and in stores.. The write off will be $75M if it is a nickle... I look for $40 to hit and maybe less.. They are weeks away from getting inspected to go back to work distributing,,
