$GEL Genesis Energy reports Q3 EPS (32c) vs. 29c last year Reports Q3 revenue $714.3M vs. $807.6M last year. CEO Grant Sims said, "As we have consistently maintained, 2024 has always been expected to be a transition year as we move increasingly closer to the inflection point where we stop spending growth capital and start harvesting increasing amounts of Adjusted EBITDA starting in 2025. I am here today to reiterate my confidence in this central thesis and confirm that we believe we remain on schedule with this plan, despite some near-term challenges. While our performance in Q3 was below our expectations, it is important to remember that a large portion of what has impacted us so far this year has been the result of one-time items or other factors outside of our reasonable control. None of the issues we have recently faced, in our opinion, represent any structural changes in the expected long-term performance of our market-leading businesses, although the timing and pace of our realization of significant amounts of free cash flow might arguably have shifted a little to the right. Our capital spend is going to stop as planned; that is one thing we can, and will, control... Despite these near-term challenges, the partnership continues to have a very clear line of sight to Adjusted EBITDA growth starting in 2025, minimal future growth capital expenditures, no near-term unsecured debt maturities, adequate liquidity and the financial flexibility to deploy such growing cash flow across the capital structure. Barring any further unforeseen circumstances, we believe we continue to be well positioned to deliver long-term value for everyone in the capital structure for many years to come."

$GEL Genesis Energy reports Q2 EPS (25c) vs. 22c last year Reports Q2 revenue $756.3M vs. $804.66M last year. CEO Grant Sims said, "Q2 was generally in-line with our expectations, absent a few one offs. Most importantly, we continue to move closer and closer to the important inflection point when we will complete our current major capital spending program and be a short time away from a notable step change in earnings and cash flow starting next year... As we look ahead to 2025, assuming a mid-year startup for our contracted offshore developments, a marginal sequential recovery in our soda ash business, and steady to marginally increasing performance in our marine transportation segment, we believe Genesis should be able to generate approximately $800 million in Adjusted EBITDA in 2025 and will be approaching, and potentially exceeding, $900 million of Adjusted EBITDA in 2026. Upon the completion of our offshore expansion projects over the coming months and given the current absence of any meaningful future growth capital requirements, we expect to be generating significant increasing amounts of cash flow over the next several years and beyond".

Just by putting a P/E of 20 on next year’s earnings will get you to $25. The 4.24% dividend is simply a bonus. And if interest rates ever start to come down, then those debt payments will drop straight to the bottom line. $GEL

I’ve commented on $GEL in the past pointing out that a breakout was just a matter of time. And this week it appears the breakout has started. Earnings are strong and growing but the company debt is a little on the high side. That makes predicting a price target hard to do. For grins, let’s just say this could double from here up to about $25 or so. Plus, there’s also a 4% dividend.

Midstream companies are always nice to have in your portfolio. You generally get a mild growth trend over time along with a nice dividend. Such is the case with $GEL. Most midstream companies have a multiple of 11-13 and you could easily see that happen here. If that does happen you’re easily looking at a $20 stock. Add in a 4.70% dividend and you have a very nice Growth and Income stock building wealth for you. Note, however, that all of the midstream companies carry a large amount of debt due to the cost requirements to build out a pipeline before it can generate a profit. GEL is no exception. But if you predict that at some point interest rates will be coming down, these shares could head much, much higher.

$GEL Genesis Energy reports Q1 EPS (9c) vs. (21c) last year Reports Q1 revenue $770.1M vs. $790.6M last year. CEO Grant Sims said, "We are pleased with the financial performance of our businesses for the quarter, as our reported Adjusted EBITDA of $163.1M was generally in-line with our internal expectations. As we look out over the balance of this year and into the next, we remain excited about approaching an important inflection point. For Genesis, it will be the point when we complete our major capital spending program and be just a few months, or quarters, away from what we believe will be a notable step change in the financial performance of our offshore assets... The realization of these should provide us with the ability to begin producing growing amounts of cash flow after all the current cash obligations of running our businesses, including all cash interest payments, principal payments on our Alkali senior secured notes, preferred distributions, common unit distributions at the current level of 60x per annum, all cash maintenance capital requirements, and cash taxes. While this is anticipated to begin next year, it will likely accelerate as we move through 2025...Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we believe we have positioned the partnership to soon have the significant financial flexibility to manage our debt metrics and liquidity, simplify our capital structure, return capital to our common unitholders in one form or another, and hopefully deliver long-term value to everyone in the capital structure".
