$GCI I despise Donald Trump, but this is probably accurate. M&A in the media space is going to explode in January and beyond and someone is going to buy Gannett in the next 4 years. And they're definitely not going to pay $5 a share for it. Maybe $10 or $15. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-11-07/executives-see-more-media-deals-less-regulation-under-trump

$GCI Horrendous night for America, but going to be a very positive result for media businesses. Grim and depressing silver lining.

$GCI "We expect trend improvement again there in the fourth quarter. We have sustained digital revenue growth with three out of our four digital revenue categories showing year-over-year trend improvement. We’re excited about what the fourth quarter holds there. As we just discussed quite a bit, we surpassed 200 million in average monthly uniques for the first time in the company’s history in the quarter. We continue to delever through both adjusted EBITDA growth and debt repayment, further reducing first lien net leverage. We continue to maintain good liquidity with over a $100 million in cash at the end of the quarter. In addition, as most of you know, subsequent to the third quarter being completed, we did successfully complete a comprehensive debt refinancing that extended our debt maturities and significantly reduced future dilution from the impact of our convertible notes." https://www.insidermonkey.com/blog/gannett-co-inc-nysegci-q3-2024-earnings-call-transcript-1384103/

$GCI anybody know what crack management is smoking when they talk about full year revenue growth in 2025? If print (55% of revenue) continues its trend of declining around 15%, and even if we assume management can achieve its 10% growth target in digital (45% of revenue) that is not going to result in a revenue gain

$GCI such nonsense movement. In the last 9 months, the company has almost generated as much operating cash flow (91 million) than they did in all of 2023 (94 million). They are probably going to increase cash flow by at least 15% from last year and the stock tanks. This thing is going to get no credit until the debt is gone and revenue is growing I’m afraid.

$GCI Public Service Announcement: 6 weeks ago, GCI closed at $4.25 (9/10/2024). We're still up by more than 15% from that level.

$GCI frequently drops 10% to 15% after reporting quarterly results and then crawls back to 52-week highs. Yes, the headline was a top- and bottom-line miss, however the long-term story is much more important for this total transformation to a digital media platform. There were many positives in this report today.

$GCI refinance:
As we continue to stabilize our business and build the foundation for sustainable revenue growth, have also created a more balanced capital structure Subsequent to the end of the that extended the maturities of virtually all of our first lien debt to 2029 Furthermore, we effectively reduced the potential dilutive impact of the 2027 convertible notes by approximately 46% which we believe has been an overhang on our share price.
In addition, as most of you know, subsequent to the Q3 being completed, we did successfully complete a comprehensive debt refinancing that extended our debt maturities and significantly reduced future dilution from the impact of our convertible notes. So we were really pleased to get that done. Each of these items really reinforces our progress As we stand here today, we believe we are well positioned to drive long term value for our shareholders and the opportunity for growth is vast we're just excited about what the future holds.

$GCI Google 2/2
Overall, I think all of these things bring to light that Google and Google controls how publishers sell their ad slots and it forces publishers to sell increasing shares of that ad space to Google at depressed prices. And as a result, there's been dramatically less revenue for publishers.
The rivals to Google's Ad Tech Business and all along through that Google is enjoying exorbitant monopoly profits. So overall, the DOJ, the State AG and Gannett, we're all seeking to restore competition ultimately will allow journalism to flourish, And on an overall basis, we feel good about the progress to date.

$GCI Google case 1/2
Obviously, given our case we closely followed the DOJ's ad tech case against Google. And I would say overall, we believe the DOJ did an outstanding job putting on its case. And we we believe they presented a very strong and compelling argument as to Google's monopolistic behavior. And in fact, I think it's interesting to note that 1 of our own employees, Tim Wolf, who is a Senior Vice President of Revenue Operations for Gannett, was in fact DOJ's first witness in their case.
In terms of that action, the closing arguments are scheduled for Monday before Thanksgiving. And the judge has indicated that, you know, she hopes to issue a decision on liability by year end and obviously kind of the remedies phase of that would follow post year end. And also importantly, the Ad Tech case being brought by Texas and 17 other states is scheduled to begin on March 31 next year.

$GCI A few snippets from CC particularly relevant to sp going forward: we are so close to the inflection point And we're really happy this morning to reaffirm or reiterate our midterm guidance which was for 2526, which does call for full year 2025 revenue growth over 2024. So we're really confident in hitting that inflection point sometime in the first half of 20 25. Some of the metrics that really give us confidence on this inflection point is our audience engagement is driving positive momentum really across our digital business So it's driving digital advertising improvement, digital subscription improvement, digital other. Partnerships and syndication revenue, are all experiencing steady growth. Each quarter, we're adding new monetization opportunities to the platform Our digital pricing strategy continues to be effective ARPU is growing up 20% year over year and our digital subscriber base is growing. So we have a lot of confidence in further growth in 25 in that category.

Latest Speculative segment pick is now live. Our first two picks in this segment have gone 200% ($GCI) and 33% ($LGO) respectively and we expect this one to do the same.
With a unique balance of risk and reward, these picks tend to be explosive. Expecting to launch a new segment to Andy’s Angle that will feature a live chat or discussion board that helps our readers collaborate and form more intimate connections with our writers, wanting to gauge interest on this as potentially a separate product or provided under the AA umbrella under a separate subscription tier or higher pricing model, would love feedback on this.
