$YPF Citi downgrades YPF on 'much more balanced' risk/reward Citi downgraded YPF to Neutral from Buy with a price target of $24, up from $20. Today appears to be more challenging for Argentina oil and gas names relative to a few months ago, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm now sees an international scenario that may have a lower risk appetite given a more hawkish Federal Reserve than in January when it upgraded YPF to Buy. Citi's base case would need higher price assumptions or better mid-term production visibility to accelerate monetization of the company's existing resource base, the analyst tells investors in a research note. It thinks YPF's risk/reward has become "much more balanced" than some months ago and downgrades the stock following the 18% year-to-date rally.

$YPF @ 19.93 it was at 13% in the predicted short term trading Opportunity Range™ for today with $XLE down enough as it's a strong UpTrend™ in my system. The last few XLE dips have lasted only one day. $YPF Closed at 0.15% in its Opportunity Range™ for today with upside of about 9.8%. It reached just 3% below the range, which is not a sizable breach (from my experience a big breach indicate pressure that may not let up, whether up or down in nature). Its "ORange Rating™" is -5 (scale +6 to -6). This has to be considered in context. It can mean a great buying point in an uptrend or the beginning of a bigger pullback. What are the pluses? YPF did not make a lower low. YPF is also above its immediate uptrend and the lows have been edging up as it approaches a prior major high. That's an ascending triangle, which is generally Bullish (the lows at which investors enter are getting higher and higher).
