$PBYA I have been comparing and contrasting this with the analysis of of the formerly for-profit Ashford University that was integrated by the University of Arizona. Although the university technically purchased Ashford for a symbolic amount of $1, the transactions added approximately $265 million to UA’s operating budget in 2023. This significant financial impact contributed to a deficit for the university, as reported by The Arizona Republic. The institution now operates under the name University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC). Despite the financial hardship, university officials maintain that the purchase remains beneficial for UA. Go figure.
