$MEEC My understanding - please correct me if I am wrong - is that CERT consists of six individuals who figured out how to game the tax credit system and abuse the MEEC patents. They purchased coal from the power plants at the beginning of the conveyer belt that loaded the coal into the burn chamber, treated it with MEEC’S patented process, and sold it back to the power plants for $2 cheaper at the end of the conveyer belt. The one CERT person in court made what, $250m off the scheme? All six combined made over $1B? i also believe that they were insured for patent infringement so there is money, even tho they were LLCs. I could be off by a bit but the gist is there...they should have plenty of money to pay up.

$MEEC The jury needed 48 hours to decide this case of treachery. Hopefully a professional judge doesn't need much time to decide the obvious. 5 years wasted. We could've had clean air technologies in Asia and other countries if it wasn't for these crooks.

$MEEC CERT briefing now posted on PACER. Looks like more legal minutiae and bogus arguments to me. Hopefully, MEEC response brief next Tuesday is strong...and judge brings down the hammer relatively quickly. I'll be disappointed with anything less than 2x damages myself. 1.5x better than current and should put at least some juice in share price. 2.5x is homerun.

$MEEC In 2011 MEEC applied to the EERC to purchase the rights to the 2 stage process that this court case is about, and had exclusive license to it during that period when they had to pay EERC a percentage of their profits. It took a while, but revenue steadily increased, from $3M, to $12M, to $30M by 2017 when they paid EERC $2.5M to purchase all of the patents. Then the revenue dropped...back to $3M a year...thanks to the patent infringement. MEEC filed suit in 2019 and it took this long to get through the courts. Almost the entire defense during the jury trial was a focus on how low the damages should be, not whether or not there should be any. I'm assuming that's the only reason they were allowed to introduce a new defense (that they had an implied license from EERC) during the one day bench trial: to try to influence the amount, not to erase it.

$MEEC From Jessica: The attorneys aren’t “agreeing” to the delays. It is more just normal course where the defendants responded and ME2C had to prepare a rebuttal. They have a ton of great things coming on the water division and also starting to settle with some of the infringing parties. I think things will get very newsy over the next two months.
