$HMC Honda, Canada near deal for EV assembly plant in Ontario, WSJ reports Honda is close to an agreement to manufacture electric vehicles and components in Canada, with the government approving a partial offset of capital costs through recently unveiled tax breaks, the Wall Street Journal's Paul Vieira and Vipal Monga report, citing a person familiar with the matter. Under the terms of the agreement with Ottawa and Ontario, Honda will build batteries, process the cathode materials needed for the batteries and also assemble electric vehicles. A formal deal announcement is expected as early as Thursday.
